SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
Water is produced by a single well located south of the Riverside Cutoff Road. Activities are prohibited within 100' of the well to protect against possible contamination. The water is chlorinated and pumped from the well to a concrete storage reservoir before being delivered to the system.

water testing
Alpine Environmental collects one sample for coliform bacteria each month. This sample is rotated between three collection sites within the system. An annual test for nitrate is collected from the source. Every three years or more, tests for metals and minerals, petroleum products, and radioactive particles are collected. Results of the most recent testing are summarized in the Consumer Confidence Report.
The Johnson Creek water system routinely measures above the maximum limits for both uranium and arsenic. Washington State Department of Health is working with the water system to identify a long-term solution to the problem. There is currently no treatment in place for these contaminants and users are encouraged to use other sources of drinking water, such as bottled water.
