SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
Water is produced by two wells and pumping systems, operated seasonally. During winter months, a small well delivers water to an above-ground concrete reservoir. A series of booster pumps supplies needed pressure to the distribution system. This system is continuously chlorinated to ensure water in the reservoir does not develop bacterial contaminants. In the summer, operation is switched to a significantly larger well with a 50-horsepower submersible pump that delivers water straight to the distribution network, bypassing the reservoir and negating any need for chlorination.

water testing
Alpine Environmental collects one sample for coliform bacteria each month. This sample is rotated between three collection sites within the system. An annual test for nitrate is collected from the source. Every three years or more, tests for metals and minerals, petroleum products, and radioactive particles are collected. Results of the most recent testing are summarized in the Consumer Confidence Report.
