SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
Water is produced by three wells located within the Martin Creek development. Two of the wells are located west of the highway, while the newest well is located east toward the Columbia River. Activities are prohibited within 100' of the well to protect against possible contamination. The water is pumped from the wells to a concrete storage reservoir before being delivered to the system.

The Martin Creek Community Association uses a colored flag system to alert customers to significant events. The flags are hung at the entrance sign to the development and indicate the following conditions:
Green flag - Normal operating conditions. Customers are free to use water as normal.
Yellow flag - Water restrictions in effect. Customers must adhere to the outdoor watering restrictions in place.
Red flag - No water available. System may be shut down for repairs or may be in an emergency water outage.

water testing
Alpine Environmental collects one sample for coliform bacteria each month. This sample is rotated between six collection sites within the system. An annual test for nitrate is collected from each source. Every three years or more, tests for metals and minerals, petroleum products, and radioactive particles are collected. Results of the most recent testing are summarized in the Consumer Confidence Report.
