SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
Water is produced by two wells located in the center of Old Orchard Estates. The water is pumped from the wells directly to the consumers with no storage or treatment facilities.
water testing
Alpine Environmental collects one sample for coliform bacteria each month. This sample is rotated between three collection sites within the system. An annual test for nitrate is collected from the source. Every three years, tests for metals and minerals, petroleum products, and radioactive particles are collected. Results of the most recent testing are summarized in the Consumer Confidence Report.
The wells serving Old Orchard Estates are high in sulfides. While this compound is not a health hazard, it does present a sulfur-like odor that some users find unpalatable. Customers wishing to improve the taste and odor of their water should contact a water treatment system vendor to find a filtration system that can remove the sulfides.
